Erlebnis im The BEEF Steakhouse & Bar in Bern
Upon entering The BEEF, the dark interior with upholstered benches and chairs stands out. These are fitting for a steakhouse, visually appealing, and also comfortable. The BEEF's menu is a meat lover's delight, featuring a good selection of Swiss meat, Irish beef, and bison. Additionally, the menu includes burgers and salads, with seasonal specials available at times.
We found the offers for meat cuts with sides particularly attractive. For example, the BEEF Café de Paris is served with French fries and a salad. The Pepper Steak comes with roasted potatoes and coleslaw. However, for other cuts, such as the Swiss Black Angus Dry Aged Sirloin Steak, sauces and sides are charged extra.
During our visit, unfortunately, the "BEEF Café de Paris" was unavailable. So, I opted for the Pepper Steak instead. I switched the roasted potatoes and coleslaw for French fries and a salad, and BEEF immediately accepted this, which is something other restaurants might not be as flexible about.
The meat was very flavorful and tender. The cooking level was mostly right, although the "medium" was a bit more done than expected. The pepper sauce also tasted excellent. The French fries were fresh and crispy, which made the meal even better. Additionally, the green salad was generous, as it included ingredients like avocado in its preparation.
We had a "Château La Tour de Mons" from Margaux, a classic Bordeaux that paired well with the meat. Even though it cost CHF 78, we found the price to be reasonable.
Overall, the visit to The BEEF Steakhouse & Bar was a success. Therefore, we might return here on another occasion.

Directions to The BEEF in Bern
From the train station, you can easily take bus number 12 towards "Bern, Zentrum Paul Klee" and get off at the Zytglogge stop. The BEEF is located right by the bus stop. Several trams also go to Zytglogge. Walking from Bern's train station takes about 10 minutes.
