Our Dining Experience at Ristorante Warteck Bern
As soon as I entered, I felt the relaxed atmosphere. The interior is kept simple, with basic wooden tables and white tablecloths. The restaurant is surprisingly large, with guests who value honest, good food without unnecessary frills.
We were served quickly and were able to order right away. For a starter, I chose a green salad, which mainly consisted of lettuce. The tasty Italian dressing was well-balanced – just the right amount, not too much, not too little. For the main course, I picked a juicy rib-eye steak with herb butter, fries, and fresh vegetables. The steak was perfectly cooked to a pink center, the fries were delicious, and the vegetables were crispy and fresh. I was particularly impressed that the vegetables were well-drained – a small detail that many restaurants overlook, but Warteck handled it perfectly!
To finish off, I treated myself to a classic cassata. Topped with cream and a bit of maraschino, it was the perfect way to end the meal. When I couldn’t finish everything, the charming owner playfully scolded me to eat it all – much to the amusement of my companions. I happily followed her advice.
