Restaurant Süder in Bern impresses with its refined interior and sophisticated cuisine. It’s also easily reachable from the city center. A visit is well worth it!
Visit to Süder in Bern
The interior of Süder looks elegant, with a wooden floor, dark wooden tables, and wood-paneled walls. The tables are set with great care. The very attentive, competent service further enhances the elegant atmosphere.
For starters, I chose the tartare. The kitchen had prepared and seasoned it very well. The tartare was served neatly with tartare, butter, and toast arranged on a plate. For the main course, I ordered veal strips with wild mushroom sauce and crispy rösti. The pieces of meat were nicely sized, and everything tasted impeccable. The rösti was crispy and the vegetables were very aromatic. A lovely cheese plate with fruit bread and a scoop of tonka bean ice cream rounded off the meal nicely.
In addition to the food, we sampled various wines, and I was particularly impressed by the value for money of the Bordeaux and Bolgheri (see also FAQ).
