The weather is warm, and it’s Friday after four o’clock. This is the time to go to Nelson for a beer. The tables on the terrace fill up quickly, and the regulars are already there. Still, you always find a place to sit. Now, Sandeep – the owner of the pub – is either already there to take your order, or you go to the counter to get a beer.
To quench your thirst, you might want to try Astra, a refreshing beer from Hamburg. Sandeep often brings a small bowl of peanuts, pretzels, or chips with the beer. You don’t have to pay for the beer right away; you pay at the end. Besides draft beers, you can also choose from bottled beers. It’s best to go to the counter to see what they have. For example, we like to drink Czech bottled beers like Staropramen or Radegast.
Besides drinks, Nelson Pub Bern also offers food, especially burgers and wings. I've only heard about it - the food has been praised by colleagues. I'll have to try it sometime.

It should be noted that the decor is a bit dated. Nevertheless, Nelson exudes a friendly atmosphere. After visiting a few times, the owner and regulars already recognize you. There are few staff members in this pub. During quieter times, Sandeep, the owner, often takes care of his guests alone. However, guests quickly get their first beer, and Sandeep also checks early for refills. One thing that sets this pub apart from others in Bern is that guests here get a snack with their beer. Sandeep usually offers peanuts, chips, or similar snacks.

We cannot currently review the quality of the food. eateryfinds.com has not eaten at Nelson yet. However, from what we've heard, the burgers taste good.
