    Park Café Kleine Schanze Bern consists of a small building and a large terrace with numerous umbrellas. It is located in the well-known Bern park “Kleine Schanze,” which gives the café its name. Thanks to its park location, it’s a bit cooler than in the city. You truly sit in greenery right in the middle of the city.

    Friendly Service and Summer Cuisine

    Amusingly, the service changed what felt like 3 times during our visit, but that wasn’t a problem since all the staff were consistently friendly and courteous. We were served promptly.

    There is a good selection of drinks and cocktails. Mineral water is also available by the carafe. However, a look at the wine list shows only a very small selection of exactly 2 wines – there would certainly be room for a bit more variety here.

    Bratwurst and salad at Park Café Kleine Schanze Bern

    I ordered a bratwurst with salad and fries. They were brought out, with the fries arriving a bit later. The salad was tip-top, consisting of various leaf lettuces, spinach, and other fresh ingredients. The fries were relatively generous for a small portion, so my companions could also share.

    The clientele is mainly locals, but the place is certainly open and welcoming to tourists too.
