Ristorante Verdi in Bern is a classic Italian restaurant. It serves refined Italian cuisine – but no pizza.
Visit to Verdi in Bern
Upon entering Verdi, you notice the rustic decor with wooden tables, elegantly set with white napkins, beautiful cutlery, and lovely wine glasses.
The menu offers classic Italian dishes. Verdi is not a pizzeria, so you won’t find pizza on the menu. In addition to the regular menu, there is also a lunch menu and, during our visit, truffle specials.
I chose the soup of the day and veal liver. The soup of the day was a bread soup, solidly prepared and served very hot. The veal liver was cooked perfectly – still pink but not too raw. The onion sauce was very tasty. It came with a risotto. The main course portion was generous.
The wine was excellent, though we did push the upper price limit. We couldn’t miss the limoncello, which was also delicious.
The prices are rather high, which is consistent with the restaurant’s level.
