Restaurant Kirchenfeld is one of the best-known elegant restaurants in Bern. It’s located near the Old Town and the Kirchenfeld Bridge, making it an ideal destination for a special occasion or business dinner. On our last visit, we enjoyed our meal in the restaurant’s beautiful garden.

From the outside, the restaurant looks rather plain, but inside guests are greeted with a stylish ambiance. The garden is a real insider tip for enjoying a meal outdoors in good weather. The service was attentive and prompt during our meal, though not particularly warm.
The menu featured classic dishes, including the veal ragout, which was very well prepared. The rösti that came with it also tasted good, though I had the feeling it wasn’t homemade. The portions were rather small. Coffee was served with a very tasty homemade caramel, making for a perfect finish. It’s worth noting that the prices were somewhat high for the overall experience.
